VESA DisplayHDR

A VESA standard that grades HDR displays into tiers from 400 to 1400 based on brightness and contrast.

Full Definition & Technical Explanation

VESA DisplayHDR is a certification programme that grades HDR displays by measurable performance rather than marketing claims. Tiers run from 400 up to 1400, each requiring minimum peak brightness, black level, and colour depth.

An OLED-specific tier, True Black, sets higher contrast requirements (see True Black 400).
